Pray for Grant

I hope you all have had a wonderful Easter and extended weekend. We sure did. And boy was it busy! Claire did not have school on Thursday, so she came with me to get Grant's counts checked. They appeared to be on the way up - so of course we were thrilled - especially since we would be around so many people over the weekend.

On Friday we just cleaned up the house and waited for Shadlee and Dave to arrive. We enjoyed a lovely meal with them and David's brother Mike that night at Raffa's on the water. It was a beautiful evening. Saturday was when the craziness began. Claire had her "spa" party from 11-1. It is amazing to me how mature the 5-year old girls are - or at least good at imitating their mom's. They enjoyed pedicures, manicures and even gave themselves a mini facial - complete with cucumbers to cover their eyes while they listened to relaxing spa music. That was followed by crafts and dancing. They had a blast. After the 15 girls left, I raced to clean up the house before Grant got home from the Shell Houston Open that he attended with the men during the party. I put the kids down for a short nap and then we headed to my nieces 1st birthday party, followed by dinner at the Raven Grill with David's side of the family for Easter.

On Sunday, we made a few attempts to get to mass. The 1st one was in the morning which we could not get in. I have never in my life seen it so packed that we could not find parking anywhere near the church. The 2nd was the evening - which that service did not exist. We did enjoy breakfast with David's parents and then headed over to my parents home for a wonderful Easter lunch. My mom made everyones favorite - Fried Chicken! The kids had a ton of fun hunting for eggs and then came home around 2:30 and crashed.

Yesterday, I took Claire and Grant to pick out ladybug houses, which we quickly filled with over 100 ladybugs. The box of bugs I bought actually came with 400 ladybugs that are now residing in my back yard. They had a blast putting the houses together and watching and feeding their new pets.

That brings us to today. Grant was overly tired this morning so he took an early morning nap while Claire crawled up in my lap and read 5 books. When Grant did rise, we had a nice lunch at home and then planted squash, green beans, peppers, cucumbers, and tomatoes. The kids are down for their afternoon naps now and when they get up, we will go outside and finish planting the herbs. They have really enjoyed their time off from school - and TCH.

Tonight I am going to try to take them to the club for dinner and let Grant practice his golf swing. He thought that sounded like a ton of fun. I hope David gets off early enough so we can ride around the course some.

Well, I am going to turn the lights off, the fan on, and close my eyes as I listen to the birds and the wind in my back yard. (I have the windows opened today.) We will go to clinic on Wednesday afternoon and may try to catch an Astro’s game in the afternoon. I will update again at the end of the week.

Happy Spring everyone!
