We had a wonderful Christmas and I hope everyone else did too. I feel so blessed to have had Grant home from the end of October thru Christmas. We had a brief hospital stay the second week in Dec. when Grant spiked a fever, but other than that the time off was so nice. Now, we are back to business and perfectly okay with that.

Yesterday Grant checked back in to TCH for re-induction (hospital chemo). I am not sure how hard this will hit his counts, but I do expect them to be low. The last inten...

Wednesday December 23

Last night's blood drive was a huge success.  Despite the rain and the holidays a lot of people showed up to donate.  We are so grateful to the Tin Roof family for doing this for Grant.  It really meant a lot to us.

Grant goes to the clinic today for blood counts.  Hopefullly he wont have to get any transfusions.   Assuming his counts are ok, the plan is for all of us to attend mass Thursday evening and then get ready for Santa.

We hope everyone has a great Christmas.

Grant's Dad is writing this post.  Grant and Claire are very excited about Santa coming in a few days.  Grant has asked Santa for a space ship, two footballs, a "big" baseball and some more Star Wars guys. Claire has asked for a fake kitty that she can practice with before she gets a real kitty and a lot of Barbie stuff.

Grant's counts were good so we were able to drive up to Waco for the weekend. We had a great time and were able to go to the Waco zoo which the kids love.

Tonight is a bloo...

We had the best time at the Mother's Against Cancer Luncheon on Monday. David and I were totally overwhelmed by the generosity of so many people. If you have not been to this function, plan on going next year. It was amazing. They had raffle tickets for one dollar that you could enter into the drawing for hundreds of different items. I believe that the raised $30,000 just on raffle tickets! And then there was a silent and live auction.

The decorations were just beautiful. On each table they ha...

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving and I hope everyone else did too, or at least better than Tiger's! What a mess!

On Monday last week I took Grant back to clinic. He received his breathing treatment and sort of had a reaction to it. He got really red and started to run a low-grade fever. They gave him benadryl and that seemed to resolve. While we were there, we looked at his port again and decided that it needed to be replaced immediately. It appears that the port was trying to come out through ...
