Yesterday was a day of terror and joy.

We went to clinic planning to have a bone marrow aspiration, a spinal tap, and get admitted to start the next round of "hospital chemo." However, once again, Grant's platelet count was too low, and now his Red blood cell count was down while his white count went up. Of course our first thought was that the leukemia had returned. The numbers looked too similar to what they looked like on May 24th. And, this past weekend, Grant ran a low-grade temp of 99. ...

Well, we did not get chemo as planned last week because Grant's platelets were too low. We tried again yesterday, and they are still too low. They gave him platelets, so hopefully on Monday he will be good to go and hopefully they can make room for him in the clinic to get the bone marrow and spinal!

I have to be honest. Part of me (the selfish part) is glad that we is getting this extra time at home to get stronger and be a normal little boy. The other part is worried that he is delayed in ge...

It has been a wild few days with some ups and some downs.

We had a good week last week. Not much to report. Just the normal life that everyone lives - well, for the most part. Grant went to clinic on Tuesday and then was set to get an MRI and GFR test (that tests his kidney function) on Friday. I showed up with Grant at the hospital early Friday morning - around 7:30 a.m. - and he was injected with a dye that runs through his blood. Every hour for four hours he had blood taken to see if his ki...

Happy Labor Day!!

We have had a nice week. Claire decided on Tuesday last week to go to Strawbridge to see her friends that she has missed all summer. She was so thrilled to be there. Grant came into his old class too and he was overwhelmed with excitement to see his old teachers and classmates. In fact, they have made him an honorary student and even sent him a folder with homework in it for him to complete and return!

On Wednesday, Grant and I hung out and he convinced me to buy him some MOR...

Well, we got home just like we planned on Friday morning. I left the hospital with Grant at 3:00 a.m. He was too funny. I woke him up and said, " Do you want to go home or stay here?" He literally popped up and started laughing and screaming  "HOME!!" He was wide-awake on our ride home he was so excited to be leaving.

We had a lovely weekend with not much to do. We made steaks (Grant's new favorite food) Friday night and David and I went out on a date Saturday night. It was good to get out and...
