Grant's daddy here.

Dr Dreyer texted us today that the PCR test done at TCH came back with no detection of any Philadelphia chromosome. That is great news.  Up until now, the results have been "low level detected that can't be quantified; less than .01%" which Dr Dreyer has told us is virtually the same as "none detected."  Whether it really makes any difference or not, it feels better to hear "none detected."

Grant went back in for counts today. His hemoglobin and platelets were very good but his ANC was only 440.  He did have 26 monocytes which should mean that his ANC is about to come back up.  Dr Dreyer said he should be good to go to the Rodeo cookoff Sunshine Kids and Candlelighters events  tomorrow.

Melanie and I went to the TCH Texas Legends Dinner the other night. My firm was generous enough to sponsor a table.  It was a great time for everyone.  Robert Duvall was there as the guest of honor, and it was fun to hear him talk about his movie career.  The event raised over $8 million for Texas Children's Cancer Center.  $8 million!  Dr Dreyer and Dr. Popolock, the director of the Cancer Center, were blown away by the amount raised.
