Grant's daddy here.

Its hard to believe the year is already a month old.  Grant is doing well.  He takes 4-8 pills a day; goes to clinic 1-2 times per week for blood counts and goes for PT once a week.  He receives chemotherapy through his port once a month.   He gets spinal taps and bone marrow aspirations once every 12 weeks.  This is his routine for 12 more months, when his 33 month treatment finally ends.

Grant's ataxia remains a problem though he has made huge improvements in his walking and using his hands.  His coloring has improved quite a bit with some tips from the PT folks.  He is able to walk independently but he is not very stable on his feet.  He can't really run; he can walk fast which sometimes causes him to lose his balance and fall.  We remain hopeful that his slow progress will continue until he fully recovers.

Grant's uncle Mike ran the 1/2 marathon yesterday in honor of Grant and The Sunshine Kids.  This is the second year in a row that Mike has run for Grant and raised money for Sunshine Kids. We were there yesterday in the rain to cheer Mike on.   Grant now has the 2 medals hanging in his room.

Jennifer Heemer also ran in honor of Grant.  Melanie and I were so touched that she would do that for him.

Claire is also doing well.  She had her first sleep over last week and she is reading like a champ.  She has also started piano lessons and loves it so far.  Her mommy and I are really proud of her.

PS Grant has analyzed the Super Bowl matchup and has predicted Green Bay to defeat Pittsburgh.
