We are home and got good news. I guess things were looking up for us today because David and Claire were the 100th customers at Chickfila and got lunch for free! AND Grant received a new Portable DVD player from the hopsital which he was thrilled with. He got to watch movies during his time at Clinc which made everthing so much easier on him.

Anyway - Dr. Dreyer told me that a study, that is not published yet, came out on Friday that showed great results in kids with the the Philidelphia Chromosome Positive ALL that were on the drug called Glevac (sp?).
She said that the kids that took Glevac from day 15 through the end of treatment (3 years and 4 months) had an 80% cure rate! She also said that the kids that did not have great numbers at the end of the first month did as well as the kids with great numbers. She said the study showed that the kids did as well, if not better, than the kids that had a bone marrow transpant. We are sooooo happy to hear this.

So, the plan right now is to put him on Glevac starting next Wednesday. If all goes as planned, he will go through treatment for the next three years as planned and hopefully be done with this forever. They only way they will do a transpant is if things look really bad. (At least this is the plan for now) LET'S HOPE THIS IS NOT NEEDED!!!! She explained the side effects for the bone marrow transpant that are long lasting and I pray he does not have to go through that.

Anyway - thanks for all the prayers. I know it is because of all the prayers that we got this news today. Please keep them coming!
