Pray for Grant

I will update this more in the morning, but I wanted to let everyone know that Grant was finally admitted today. Though he barely made the cut, his counts were high enough to get started.

The tests that he had from the bone marrow all came back great. No cancer. The spinal was done today and showed two white cells. We will not know for a few more days if there were any leukemia blasts in the spinal fluid. I pray that there are not and that we can just pick up and continue moving forward.

He is expected to move through this round smoothly. I pray that is the case and that he is released to go home on Friday as expected. We will keep him pretty well hidden from society until his ANC comes back up. It is expected to drop to zero and then recover rather quickly. I need to make sure Claire does not bring home any viruses. I will have her take her clothes off as soon as she gets home from school and get straight in the tub. If she does end up with a runny nose, I will have to keep them separated. I am half tempted to just keep her home for a week so not to subjected her to any of the funk that is going around.

I wanted to thank everyone that has donated to the Leukemia Society and those of you that will be walking with us next Saturday night. We really appreciate all your support.

Please join me in praying for Grant. May he get through this round successfully, with no horrible side effects and may his spinal tap results come back normal. May he continue to be cured of his leukemia and may he continue to gain the strength he needs to walk on his own.
