Happy Labor Day!!

We have had a nice week. Claire decided on Tuesday last week to go to Strawbridge to see her friends that she has missed all summer. She was so thrilled to be there. Grant came into his old class too and he was overwhelmed with excitement to see his old teachers and classmates. In fact, they have made him an honorary student and even sent him a folder with homework in it for him to complete and return!

On Wednesday, Grant and I hung out and he convinced me to buy him some MORE Star Wars characters. He is building quite the collection and Target is enjoying their new surge in profit.

On Thursday, Claire decided that she just wanted to stay home and play with Grant. They enjoyed the time goofing off and watching movies together. On Thursday evening, the kids and I met up with some of my neighbors outside and kids got to play with some of the other kids on the street they have not seen all summer. Grant wanted to get up and run around so badly. Though he could not do that, he did get on a tricycle and play with his friend Scott and then went inside to play with his friend Michael. It was so good for him.

On Friday we went to clinic to have Grant's numbers checked. It turned out that he needed platelets. After he received those, we headed to Waco for the weekend, which was a lot of fun for all of us. On Saturday we took the kids to the zoo and then out to a nice dinner that night. On Sunday we hung out at the house most of the morning. After a lovely lunch out, David took Grant back to the house to take a nap and Shadlee and I took Claire to the Baylor museum. She had such a good time!! Then last night, one of David's old friends came by with their little girl and the three kids played together for a couple of hours. We headed back home this morning, got the house in good order, and had a wonderful steak dinner - compliments of David.

Tomorrow Claire will go to Strawbridge for school and then to gymnastics. I will take Grant to clinic to receive chemo and then meet David at our Dr. to have a blood test done. Grant will head back to the Dr. on Friday for a kidney function test and another MRI. The results of these tests will tell us how to proceed with his treatments. We are expected to check into the hospital next Wednesday for 4-5 days. I'll update this again over the weekend.

I hope everyone had a good Labor Day Weekend!
