Grant's daddy here.

We were so lucky to be able to go to Omaha Nebraska Thursday through Saturday.  I had business up there and I was able to bring Melanie and the kids with me.  YaYa(my grandmother) hadnt seen Grant or Melanie since Grant was diagnosed. It meant so much to her and us that she was able to see Grant.  She and the rest of the residents of Maple Ridge assisted living center have said so many prayers for Grant.  They--especially Pastor Norm--were thrilled to see him in person.

We are back in Houston now and Melanie and I are so glad we went to Nebraska.  The trip went well.  There was a ton of snow on the ground but the roads were easily drivable.  The kids got to play in the snow and spend time wiht their cousins Natalie, Sam and Luke.  My Aunt Cindy and Uncle Tim let us stay at their place, which they made as comfortable as home.

Grant continues to do well.  His walking is very slowly but steadily improving.  Grant went to cousin Luke's(5 years old) basketball game yesterday which he seemed very interested in.  Melanie and I pray that maybe by next year Grant will be able to play soccer, basketball or tee ball.

Claire had a big time in Nebraska too. She and little cousin Natalie had so much fun together.

On another note, please join us in praying for Grant's friend Preston. His parents found out last week that he relapsed.  That means they begin chemotherapy again and prepare for bone marrow transplant.  Preston is a wonderful little boy who has fought his AML like a champ.

Today we are going to the Hardwick's for Super Bowl Sunday. Grant and Claire cant wait to play wiht Savannah, Garrett and baby Stetson.

PS  Grant told me last night that he has switched his pick to the Steelers.  He was apparently very impressed with Troy Polomalu's long hair.
