Pray for Grant

We are still here. Grant has not run fever today - so I am keeping my fingers crossed that it stays that way. He still has an ANC of 0 and still has no ability to fight infection. For those that are interested in the numbers, all his counts are low, but he does have some mono's so, there is small chance that he will have an ANC tomorrow. I will ask the Dr.s to run another CBC tonight to see where we are headed.

Last night, his CBC showed that his platelets did not go up at all following his earlier transfusion, so they gave him another round of platelets. Those are in good shape right now. I think he will need another blood transfusion tomorrow because his red blood cells are heading down.

Grant is weaker than he has been lately. He is shaky again. I have questioned the Dr.s why this is since we have cut out the Methotrexate from him treatment plan. I am now wondering if his neurological event was due to the ARAC and not the methotrexate. The team here will discuss it and how to proceed with his treatments. I believe they are going to have neurology come and take a look at him again too.

Other than the weakness, Grant is in good spirits. He has had A LOT of loose stools, so we are in lock down until the results from his stool tests come back negative for bacteria. He gets this way each time he is on antibiotics so I do not expect it to be any different this time.

Grant's sleep study came back finally. He suffers from mild obstructive sleep apnea as well as mild neuro sleep apnea. The neuro part is due to the chemo, but we have to see an ENT for the obstructive part. They think it may be his tonsils and that those may need to be removed at some point. GREAT!!

So, I think we will be here over the weekend, which really bums me out. It is supposed to be a beautiful weekend and I so hoped to get him out in the nice weather. I will beg and plead to get out on Saturday if we are still here and all looks okay. Thanks for the continued prayers.
