Pray for Grant

Well, we did not get chemo as planned last week because Grant's platelets were too low. We tried again yesterday, and they are still too low. They gave him platelets, so hopefully on Monday he will be good to go and hopefully they can make room for him in the clinic to get the bone marrow and spinal!

I have to be honest. Part of me (the selfish part) is glad that we is getting this extra time at home to get stronger and be a normal little boy. The other part is worried that he is delayed in getting his chemo by two weeks.

David and Claire leave tomorrow morning for Emily Schmad's (David's cousin) wedding in Nebraska. I thought about going with Grant too, but I think it is too risky. He could come down with some weird virus and we just can't have that. So, Grant and I plan on just hanging out together all weekend. I will plan something special for us to do. My sister and her hubby have already got us all set up for a behind the scene tour of the Houston Zoo!!! That will be so much fun!!

Okay, for the fun news. After Grant met Craig Biggio last Monday, he was invited back by Craig to hang out last Friday. I could not update this until now because it was a secret that was to be keep from his Dr. until the end of the day yesterday. You see, Dr. Dreyer was honored at a luncheon yesterday and Craig filmed a secret tribute to be played to her during the lunch. Well, Craig asked that Grant be in the film with him. So, last Friday, David and I took him to St. Thomas High School to hang out with Craig and do this film. It was sooooo cool. I have to say, Craig is THE nicest guy. After the filming was over, he put Grant on a tractor with him and rode around the filed for about 30 minutes. I cannot begin to tell you how excited and happy Grant was. I will post a link to my snapfish page on here for those of you that want to see the pictures.

That is all for now. I will update again when we actually DO get checked in!
