Pray for Grant

We had a wonderful Christmas and I hope everyone else did too. I feel so blessed to have had Grant home from the end of October thru Christmas. We had a brief hospital stay the second week in Dec. when Grant spiked a fever, but other than that the time off was so nice. Now, we are back to business and perfectly okay with that.

Yesterday Grant checked back in to TCH for re-induction (hospital chemo). I am not sure how hard this will hit his counts, but I do expect them to be low. The last intensification (another hospital chemo) will start on Jan. 18 assuming his counts are okay. Then, 43 days later Grant is scheduled to get High Dose ARAC - the big bad stuff. If all goes as planned, and I do mean IF, he will enter the 1st part of hospital chemo maintenance in March. That will last until the end of August when he should have his LAST hospital chemo and move on to regular maintenance. I pray to God that 2010 is better than 2009!

Grant should get out of the hospital late tomorrow afternoon and David, Claire, Grant and I plan on welcoming 2010 in together at home. I can't wait! Right now Shadlee (David's mom) is taking care of Claire and when we get home, David's dad will come down so we can celebrate Christmas with them.

On Jan. 1, we will come to TCH around 2:00 to run with Kevin Kline, of 93Q Country, who has been running from Dallas, to Waco, to Austin, to San Antonio and ending at TCH in Houston since Dec. 20 to raise money for cancer research! He is an amazing guy! I can't wait to see him complete this amazing feat!

Thanks again for everyone's continued prayers. I pray that everyone out there has a HEALTHY and wonderful 2010! Happy New Year!
