GREAT CANCER DAY!!! Grant actually is starting to walk ALL ON HIS OWN!!!! We were in the playroom this afternoon doing a PT game I made up, that he loves, called "Sorry PT" when he decided he wanted to get a different toy and walked by himself to get it! Since November, Grant has made attempts to walk without holding on to me, but he has not taken more than a few steps and then either grabs me or falls. Today was different. He had confidence in himself and was ready to do it. He is also more steady. I am not saying he is ready for me to just let loose, but this is significant!! We are sooooo proud of him. He has been working so hard towards this since August! Oh - and he asked to start potty training before he got admitted. Since we have been inpatient, he has wanted to "go" in the "bottle thing" instead of his diapers. So, all in all - a GREAT CANCER DAY!

Since his counts are trending upwards and he is still blood culture negative, we are supposed to go home first thing in the morning. Please pray that his counts boost up even further by tomorrow morning and that he remains blood culture negative and that the blasts do not return so we can get out of here. We would love to have the next few days at home before we get re-admitted on Monday for BAD chemo (bad b/c it hits him so hard that he will have NO ability to fight infection for a couple of weeks.)

Thanks again for the prayers!!

Melanie
