We made it through this metho!!! YEAH!!! Grant cleared his methotrexate last week very quickly thanks to the staff at TCH who constantly checked his levels and adjusted them accordingly. He did have issues with this electrolytes, so they keep him up there until late Friday evening. He has been suffering from mouth sores that run from his lips all the way to his bottom, but those actually seem better today for the first time. At least they are not bleeding anymore. He has a yeast infection on his rear-end that we are treating and he is taking vitamin D supplements since he is not absorbing them correctly. He is also significantly weaker. I just finished working with him and it feels like we are starting all over again with the walking and stability issues that started last August. With all that said though, this was better this time! At least he has continued to eat and talk and use his hands AND did not end up in ICU! Praise the Lord!

Thanks to everyone for the wonderful Happy Birthday and Anniversary wishes yesterday! It meant a lot to hear from so many of you. Thanks to Dena for helping me with Claire and picking up dinner for us last night and to Stacey for picking up the cake I ordered for our anniversary. We have yet to enjoy it, but I hope we will tonight.

Let me bring you up to speed on the week we had and are having. Last week, as you know, Grant had hospital chemo. We had sent Claire to Waco for the week since David was traveling so much. On Thursday last week I went with David to his Dr.'s appointment to decide what to do with his back issues. He cannot feel part of his hip on the right side and is slowly loosing sensation all the way down past his knee. After the appointment, I drove to Waco in the afternoon to pick up Claire and Godiva, who has been at puppy school, and then turned around at 4:00 a.m. on Friday to be with Grant at TCH. David stayed the night with him and then had to leave early in the morning to catch a flight to Dallas. Thank you Mike for helping watch Grant until I could get there!!!! Grant was released that evening and we all just crashed. On Saturday I celebrated my sister’s, my mom’s and my birthday and then met up with some of David's HS buddies who all came in town for a reunion. So much fun!!! On Sunday morning, my mom called and informed me that my Grandmother had fallen and broken her hip. Since David had to work, my dad came over and stayed with the kids so I could go see her.

On Monday, Grant had to get a spinal and a bone marrow biopsy. I do not have those results yet. My grandmother also had her hip surgery. Monday night, when David flew back into town, we ran out for a quick bite to celebrate our 8th anniversary and my 33rd!!! Yesterday, I took Claire to school and then ran downtown to David's office to pick him up for his mylogram, which took 5 hours!!! (They stick a needle in his spine and inject dye into it and then do a CT scan). While he was there, I took Grant to run a few errands and spent 3 1/2 hours at the zoo. This morning we went up the street to enjoy a cup a coffee with my neighbors and then did some home physical therapy with Grant. I am about to jump in the tub and go get Claire. We have a photo shoot of the family today that is going to be used for the Candelighters Annual Luncheon invitation.

Hopefully tonight we can enjoy a quite dinner at home and have some sparking wine and the anniversary cake. Tomorrow, I will head to TCH for Grant’s blood counts and then David's parents are coming in town. David will have his back surgery first thing on Friday morning. I need prayers for him too - that it goes well!!!

Thanks again for all the support. I promise to update this this weekend on everything that is going on!
