Grant seems to be doing okay so far. No test has come back yet stating that he has an infection. We are hoping we will get to go home today. His liver function is a bit off, but some of that is due to diet and some due to the Chemo. We are waiting to talk with some of the other doctors this afternoon.

I think I may have scared a few people about the mumps exposure that Grant had. On May 26 while in the recovery room, there was a staff member in the area that had the mumps. It was not anyone that he had direct contact with, but as a precausion, all the staff members here are having to wear masks. Dr. Dreyer is not worried about it - especially since Grant has had his vacines. We know that whoever had this was not anyone that worked on Grant. It was not his nurses or Dr.s or any of the staff that treated him in the receovery room. It may have been the guy who mops or changes the AC filter, but no one that worked closely with him. In order for Grant to have had "direct contact" with this person, he would have had to been sneezed on or coughed on and swalled those particles. No one here beleives this has happened, but TX Childrens has to be careful anyway. I am sorry if I have worried anyone, but we are not worried about this and his Dr. is not worried.
